Intempo have a long history of  quality radio products and they've now turned their attention to internet radio.

Unlike many of its rivals the GX-01 not only uses WiFi, but also has an ethernet socket for the best possible connection if required.

The radio is mains-powered and has a built in alarm clock. There's a satisfactory 99 station memory that is accessed via the bundled remote control.

The styling may be retro but the GX-01 from Intempo is the latest in Internet radio technology.  Tune in to over 5,000 Internet radio stations worldwide via your WiFi or LAN connection or choose to listen to your favourite music wirelessly from your PC or laptop.   The GX-01 is available now from Argos, Tesco Direct and Amazon.co.uk, priced at £119.99.

The GX-01 is simple to set up and operate; it connects to the Internet through a wireless network or directly via the radio's ethernet socket.  The radio will automatically scan for a network, once found follow the step-by-step instructions by scrolling through the intuitive menu.  There is no software to install and you don't even need to switch on your PC.

Creating a radio play list is simple; choose to search via location or genre then select a station, in a few clicks you can be listening to a New York breakfast show or chilling out to Bondi Beach's night time tunes.  The LCD will display scrolling text with the name of the song and artist playing. The GX-01 supports Real Media, Windows Media and there is access to on-demand content for some radio stations.

With the GX-01 you can also opt to listen to your favourite music, either wirelessly from your PC or laptop over your home network or from a memory stick connected to the USB port.  The GX-01 supports MP3, Real Audio and Windows Media Audio.

The GX-01 Internet Radio is mains powered and has a built-in alarm clock with sleep and snooze functionality.  The radio can be operated manually or via the remote, which can store up to 99 favourite stations so you will never again lose that far flung radio station you have become addicted to!
