The internet rumour mill is turning, fired by reports that Apple has ordered the relevant components for a WiFi module from Universal Scientific Industrial.
Whether these will find their way into a iPod, or indeed even enable the streaming of internet radio onto everyone's favourite portable media player, is unknown.
The iPod's main rivals, Microsoft's Zune and the SanDisk Sansa Connect, but incoude a WiFi module, although only the Sansa Connect makes a feature of its ability to stream audio from the net.
