The Sandisk Sansa Connect has shipped in the USA priced at $250 which is roughly $50 more than the equivalent 4 GB iPod. However, that $50 gets you built in WiFi, allowing you to stream internet radio and a Flickr browser.
We reported on the Sansa Connect back in January, but since then the extent of the devices multimedia capabilities have become clear.
The Sansa Connect player is designed to work seamlessly with a wide range of popular music formats such as MP3 and Windows Media Audio (WMA) in both unprotected and protected files. While optimized to work wirelessly with Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go, the player supports all Microsoft PlaysForSure subscription music via a PC connection.
SanDisk teamed with ZING, a new mobile entertainment technology and services company, to develop the product. ZING’s Mobile Entertainment Engine provides technology, software and services for building next generation digital media players and experiences.
