We reported last month on Broadband Instruments, a mysterious US company who promised "A new type of integration with online radio stations".
Broadband Instruments have now emerged from 'stealth' mode and announced an personal media player and a mash-up music service that combines online tunes, satellite radio, and wireless hotspot.

When combined with the subscription-based Slacker.com service ($7.50/month) you can stream stations direct to the player over WiFi, or even, with the addition of an optional in-car kit, over satellite.
